Summary
Purdue University Northwest (PNW) is focused on developing strategies for improving student retention, increasing student engagement, and automating cumbersome manual processes. To that end, the university has started connecting its business processes and integrating its suite of enterprise solutions "to address manual processes through the use of automation tools,” says Carol Coupet, executive director of enterprise applications services at the university.
One of the institution’s first automation initiatives: streamlining transfer course equivalencies.
“We wanted to standardize how exceptions were processed and approved across the institution,” says Coupet. So PNW began looking at ways to automate, and it recognized the potential of using Ellucian Workflow and Ellucian Degree Works to assist with exception processing and approval routing.
