February is American Heart Month. American Heart Month raises awareness of heart disease and how it can be prevented. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States. However, heart disease can be prevented by making healthier lifestyle choices and managing health conditions.

There are communities, professional health providers, families and friends that come together to create opportunities for people to make healthier lifestyle choices. There are also many local businesses that provide CPR+AED+First Aid classes and training in case of sudden cardiac arrest emergencies such as Heartbeat NOLA.

It is important to talk about the ways we can prevent heart disease and encourage living healthier lives, and it is important to be prepared and trained for any cardiac emergency. It can save someone’s life. It can save a loved one’s life.
